“I think it’s very much possible because we have L.A. Reid in our corner now, and he was the first to sign OutKast,” Big Boi told Rolling Stone.
Jive Records, which is currently home to the Atlanta duo, blocked André 3000 from appearing on Big Boi’s 2010 solo debut, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty (Island Def Jam). Reid recently became chairman of Epic Records and would presumably be in the position to clear André’s verse.
“L.A. has permission to make it happen now,” added Big Boi. “So I hope it does, and I don’t really see why it won’t.”
Big Boi’s next solo album, tentatively titled Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader, will feature a collaboration with Janelle Monáe and is due for release by the end of the year. - Rap-Up
